Tombstone

Here are some of the pictures of Tombstone. It was really neat. You walk down the main road of Tombstone and it is like walking back in time. The people that live in Tombstone dress up and hang out on the main street all day. They have gun fights and old horse drawn buggies that will take you around town. Its a sight to see or as they say its "The city that never wants to die."
This is the old Boothill Graveyard they have as you enter into Tombstone. It is where some of the old westerners are buried. It was really cool to see. It wasn't creepy though, just cool.

Joe's Crab Shack Round 2

While Oma and Opa were here they asked if we could go to Joe's Crab Shack so we went and got our hands all messy and dug into the steam pots. Oma and Chris each got a steam pot and Opa and I got Fish and Chips and we just passed around the food. It was good company, good food, and good atmosphere. We love Joe's!

The Boneyard

Davis-Monthan Air Force Base has a boneyard where over 4000 airplane shells are lined up in rows by type for mile after mile. Here is an aerial photograph. Normally all we could see were the very outside row of one side but since Oma and Opa have access to base we got to go on and see more that what we thought was there.

Dogs New Home

The weekend of Labor Day Chris built a little kennel for the dogs on one side of our yard. That is too keep them from eating the sprinklers and digging holes in the grass.
The area of the yard that we fenced off doesn't get much shade so this is the shade that Chris built for them. He just set their crates side by side and used one of the boxes from our garden and made a roof out of it and then just attached a heavy duty tarp over the top. At least they have a place to lay down that is not on the gravel and some shade.
This is Jake is the pool that we got them. This is about all that he does in it besides drink the water. But at least he uses it. Lucy won't go anywhere near it.

Family Photos

While Jenny was here we had our pictures taken. We have not had a picture taken of the three of us before so it was fun to have them taken again. They were taken at The Picture People in the mall. Here is the link to view the pictures. http://smilestore.picturepeople.com/my/images?tk=4bd66789-a2ea-42f7-83dd-5d8a9a5c4704. Let me know what you think. I know that Chris does not look super happy in all of them. He just doesn't smile well under pressure. But we had fun and got some good pictures.

Crazy Monsoon Weather

Here are some pictures of what our monsoon rain looks like after a big storm hits. It only rained for about a half hour and this is how much rain fell. Our main road out to the freeway was flooded in some areas and Chris got a kick out of driving through them. They say that since we had a dry summer we are probably going to have a wet winter so more rain still to come. I can't wait!!

Crazy Week

So this week was pretty crazy. On Monday I got offered a permanent job at the place that I have been temping at for the past three months so that is good news. I will be starting on Monday the 24th as one of the Claims customer service representatives.

Jenny went home on Tuesday and we were sad to see her go. The house felt so quiet and empty without her here. Later on that night, Chris was messing around with the alarm system and accidentally armed the system. So I called our property manager and she didn't have the code to unarm the system. So at this point I am starting to get a little freaked out, we were now locked into our house and there was no way out without setting off the alarm. So we tried to google our brand of alarm system to see if there was something on the manual that would help us. We couldn't find anything so Chris went down and hit the star and the pound button together, well that ended up being the panic button. So the alarm went off! It was so loud and at that point I was breaking down. The dogs were freaking out and they were running around barking and whining. I cannot believe how loud alarm systems are. So Chris had to cut all the wires to the battery for the alarm system and he cut the wires to the box that makes all the noise. So Shawn if you are reading this it was not good advice to tell Chris to just arm the system because we didnt know how to unarm the system.

On Thursday we did the walk through on our old house. We are so glad that they agreed to let us out of our lease.
