Christmas in Tucson

This year for Christmas my parents and Jenny came down for Christmas. They came down on Wednesday and they left on Sunday. We had a great time playing the Wii and just hanging out. For Christmas each year we always get the dogs these candy canes rawhides. My parents got a kick out of watching them eat them. It kept them entertained while we opened our presents.

Thanksgiving Week

This is what our drive up here was like. The dogs slept most of the way except for when we pulled snacks out of the cooler. Jake would put his head on the cooler and drool like crazy!!! Needless to say that my car was pretty hairy and sloppery when we got home.

Here are some of the pictures of Thanksgiving Day at Paul and JoAnn's house. It was really good to see all of our family and spend time with them. The dogs had a brief moment of wierdness and then they remembered each other. I think Scout really enjoyed all the play time he got while our dogs were there. We realized this year that being in Arizona was a lot different than being in Wyoming. It was six months prior to this visit from when we were in Utah and we missed being only four hours away from our families. On Friday we went over to Brittany's parents house and went out to dinner for her Dad's b-day and then we had a short movie marathon. We watched Star Trek and then off to the movies we went with Jenny to see the Blind Side. On Saturday Brittany went to Park City with the girls and Jenny and had a great time. Sunday came to fast and we had to come home but it was a great week off from work and we got to have a little bit of coldness so we wouldn't miss it too much when Christmas rolls around down in Tucson.

Our Cute Pets

So Chris was teasing Jake so what does he do? He climbed right into his lap and sat there and wouldn't get down it was so cute. I can't believe how big he is sometimes yet he still acts like a big puppy.

We got these kids sacs when we bought our couch and the dogs love them. We usually have them up in the loft and this week I brought one down. Well Jake got off and of course Lucy got on and it was this huge ordeal. Jake was upset that Lucy was on the kid sac. He wouldn't lay down anywhere and he tried to push Lucy off once. Then the same thing happened just the other way around. So we brought them both down so they each now have one.Kids.

Spudnuts!!!

Every Halloween Chris' mom makes spudnuts so he had his mom email him the recipe and he made them. They are doughnuts but they have mashed potatoes in them.

Of course any time there is cooking going on in the kitchen the dogs are right on your tails. Even though they get told repeatedly to get out of the kitchen, they tend to lay right on the edge of the island. Here they were standing right behind Chris hoping for something to fall on the floor.

Chris rolling out the dough.

While all this magic was happening I was upstairs taking a nap with the dogs. When I finally woke up and came back down the spudnuts were finished. They are delicious.

Halloween

This year Chris decided to dress up as a rocker. I had purchased a wig for my call girl outfit and ended up not wearing it. We got him some big gold sunglasses and tied a headband around the wig. When he got to work people asked him if he had had long hair before. They said he looked really good with it. Here are the pictures I took at home before he left. I think he looked so good. It was really fun.

Rattlesnake Hunting

Chris built this great trap to trap the rattlesnake in and guess what he didn't even need it. The box was lined with sticky traps so that the snake would get stuck and not be able to get out. When Chris got home today he went out in the backyard with his headlamp on and his shovel and low and behold there was the snake crawling along the fence. Chris stabbed the snake with the shovel and cut its head off. He said that the snake didn't even know he was coming and didn't even have a chance to coil up. Here are the pictures:

Finally an Arizonian

So I finally took the jump and got my car registered. Legally you are supposed to do it within ten days of moving into the state but I made it through seven months without getting pulled over. Yah!! And the picture of the bush is where a rattlesnake has taken up residence underneath. We believe that since there was a pack rat living underneath it the snake took its hole over. There are several tunnels in and out of the bush. So we aree not sure how we are going to get the snake out. It has not been there that we know of for the last two days. So hopefully it doesn't have babies in there.
