Saying Goodbye to Rawlins

The day we left Rawlins was a bittersweet one. I think I made like eighteen people cry. It was horrible and we are going to miss them all so much. This is the cake that Chris' dietary manager Deb made for us. I thought it was so cute so I had to take a picture.
We drove to Utah on Friday the 20th and then we left for Vegas on Monday, then hit Tucson on Tuesday. We got a GPS and the GPS took us down through the Hoover Dam. It was so cool!! They are building a road that goes over the dam and it was about halfway done. It was so high. I want to go back and drive over the bridge once it is done. The drive wasn't too bad, except that Cuddles howled the whole way. She finally calmed down once we got out of Phoenix. I was so irritated by the time we got home.

This has been a hard week
This week was supposed to be the happiest time for us. Our baby was supposed to be ten weeks on Friday and I was having the first ultrasound on Wednesday. Well when we got to the ultrasound the baby had no heartbeat, it stopped growing at six weeks. As I was lying there on the table as he is telling me that there is something wrong, I could not tell you what I was thinking. Except that this cannot be happening to us again. You could see the babies head and little arms and how I wish that it was alive. The doctor told me that the amniotic sac was still growing but the baby was not. That is why I didn't have a miscarriage. So on Thursday morning I went in to have a D & C. We are hopeful that this will shed some light on what is going wrong and could possibly help us in the future. I did really well in surgery and have no pain thus far. Although we have had these challenges this past year we are still hopeful as is the doctor. He has been very thorough and we greatly appreciate all he has done for us. We are also grateful for everyone's support through this rough time. We know that without you this would only be harder to get through.

Our New House
Homeless but Hopeful
Well the movers came yesterday and packed up our entire house in one day. Today they came at 7:30 this morning and loaded up everything into the truck by 1:30 this afternoon. Our furniture is now in route to Tucson. Its a bittersweet moment for us. Our life in Rawlins is ending and our life in Tucson is just beginning. We have moved into the Hampton hotel for the next week and a half. Its fun but nothing like home. I have loved telling everyone that "I am homeless and pregnant." Not really. Just for another week.
